Berry Color: rose
Best Use: Table
Origin: Ukraine
Harvest Season: August - September

Description

Original is a pink table grape bred at the Tairov institute in Odesa, Ukraine, and listed in Russia's state register since 2009. DNA markers point to Chaouch Rose and Dattier de Saint-Vallier as its parents. It is grown as much for its looks as its taste: very large, loose, decorative bunches of 500 to 600 g hang with elongated, slightly curved, pointed pink berries of 6 to 7 g, each with one or two seeds.

Characteristics

Pink table grape; very large loose bunches of 500–600 g; elongated, slightly curved, pointed berries of 6–7 g; 1–2 seeds; simple pleasant taste; mid-season; medium yield; below-average winter hardiness (about −21 °C); above-average disease resistance

Growing Tips

The register rates Original's winter hardiness below average: it tolerates about −21 °C and must be covered for winter. Disease resistance is above average and the yield medium.
