Best Use: Table
Origin: Ukraine
Harvest Season: August

Description

Arkadia (also written Arcadia, and sold as Nastya) is a white table grape bred at the Tairov institute in Odesa, Ukraine, from Moldova × Cardinal, a pedigree that DNA markers have confirmed. It ripens early and bears large bunches of 500 to 700 g. The berries are large to very large, egg-shaped and greenish-yellow, usually with two seeds, and the vine crops heavily.

Characteristics

White (greenish-yellow) table grape; large to very large ovoid berries; about two seeds per berry; cylindrical-conical bunches of 500–700 g, compact or loose; hermaphrodite flowers; early ripening; high yields; above-average disease resistance; survives about −21 °C uncovered

Growing Tips

Russia's state register rates Arkadia's winter hardiness as only medium: it survives about −21 °C uncovered, and in its approved region the vines are covered for winter. Where frosts go lower, lay the canes down in autumn. Disease resistance is above average, and the register rates its yields as high.
